What our sensors tell us about
Operation of BCS - Feeding
When Feeding on the BCS ensure you keep your torso “long and strong” with your elbows tucked and feet apart.
This will give you a comfortable base to move from and remember to always feed mail directly in front of you keeping the mail tub to your side to minimise leaning.

- Excessive leaning
- Elbows flared
- Feet together

- Facing feeder – “long and strong”
- Elbows tucked
- Feet apart
EMP Sensor Observations
Sensor observations are a highly accurate and objective way of measuring risk during manual handling tasks. By using the correct movement you will help reduce stress and strain on your back, shoulders and neck.
Task Risk Scale
With sensor observations, we measure relative task risk.
